La joven maestra fue destinada a una escuela en la selva amazónica, y allí llegó cargada con sus libros.
A sus alumnos lo que más les gustaba era que les leyera cuentos. Luego se los llevaban a sus casas, y las madres y abuelas, aunque no sabían leer, miraban esos libros con curiosidad.
Los habitantes de los pueblos de la selva solían contar muchas leyendas, pero en aquel entonces la joven maestra creía que eran solo eso: leyendas.

Acostumbrada a la ciudad y a los libros, la joven maestra tendrá un choque cultural al encontrarse con una realidad diferente. Pero pronto se dará cuenta que ella no es la única que tiene cosas que enseñar.
