"Poetry & Illustration"
Luján Cordaro wird unser Gast für diesen wundervollen Workshop sein, welcher uns die erstaunliche Welt der illustrierten Poesie entdecken lässt. Der Workshop wird in englischer und spanischer Sprache stattfinden. Poetry & Illustration ist eine Einladung zum Diskutieren und zum Malen. Geimeinsam werden wir versuchen, Antworten auf folgende Fragen zu finden:
- Wie können wir Illustrationen als Kontrapunkt und nicht als eindeutige Interpretation der Textes entwerfen?
- Wie verwende ich Bilder ohne einen Text damit zu erschlagen?
- Wie verwenden wir Bilder, um den Text zu erweitern, nicht um ihn nur zu wiederholen?
- Gibt es nur eine Möglichkeit einen Text darzustellen?
Wir werden Illustrationen analysieren und über Stil und Sprache nachdenken; und machen uns anschließend selbst an die Arbeit ein Gedicht in unserem eigenen Stil zu illustrieren (englische, deutsche, spanische und französische Versionen werden vorhanden sein).

Luján Cordaro ist eine argentinische Künstlerin, welche seit vier Jahren in Berlin lebt und arbeitet. Sie bietet Workshops für Kinder und Erwachsene an und arbeitet für das Projekt "Urban Art Kids".

"Poetry & Illustration" meeting (ES/EN)
Luján Cordaro will be our guide and special guest for this wonderful workshop, which will take us to explore the amazing world of illustrated poetry.
“Poetry & Illustration meeting” is an invitation to discuss and paint inspired by some amazing books.
Together we’ll try to find the answers for the following matters:
- How not to kill a beautiful text with an obvious, descriptive image.
- How to make our illustrations act as a counterpoint rather than a literal interpretation of the text.
- How to use images to expand the content rather than to repeat it.
- Is there only one true way to represent an specific text? How many ways can the same poem be illustrated?
We will analyze the work of some great illustrators, thinking about their style, language and most importantly their no literal relation text-image they achieved.
Then, we’ll get to work!
We will provide copies of a selected poem (English, German, French and Spanish versions will be available) and after reading them, everyone will be encouraged to illustrate in their own style.
It’s important that participants bring their own materials (sketchbook, pencils, watercolors, etc).
To conclude, we will share our work and we’ll have a round of very positive criticism.
Hopefully everyone will go home with a lot of enthusiasm to keep working on poetry!

Luján Cordaro comes from Argentina and for the past four years lives and works in Berlin. She has studied all kind of arts since very little. In 2010 she discovered Illustration and it became her biggest passion. Two years ago she finished her first picture book “Oso” and has been working in independent illustration projects since then.
She runs her own watercolor workshop weekly in Friendrichshain, teaching both adults and kids, and also teaches art for the “Urban Art Kids” project.
