Age 7+

A story about the power of art to offer comfort, strength and a sense of connection, even in the darkest of times.

Ayesha paints beautiful pictures: they tell of love, friendship and the beauty of the world. But one day, war comes to the town. The cellar beneath Ayesha’s studio becomes a shelter, where the greyness of the walls creeps into people’s hearts. Until little Emil hands the artist a paintbrush and, eventually, they all begin to paint together. Their memories and the things the war has already stolen from them. Until the horror draws ever closer and Ayesha makes a decision: she begins to paint a window. A magical window that promises hope.
