La familia Vargas Ramírez es del norte de Tenochtitlan, de un sitio llamado Iztapalapa, lugar de la loza sobre el agua. Un día, escuchan el canto hermoso de un ave: “Nos vamos. Nos vamos”, y comprenden que deben buscar un nuevo lugar para establecerse. En su peregrinar, los guerreros migrantes se toparán con los Tiras, Maldades Solares, y enfrentarán situaciones peligrosas para poder llegar al otro lado, en donde se encuentra el hombre pájaro que vuela sobre árboles metálicos. Una historia narrada desde la mirada de un niño, que muestra la cruda realidad de las familias que cruzan el Río Bravo.

"The Vargas Ramírez family is from the north of Tenochtitlan, from a place called Iztapalapa, a place of slabs over the water. One day, they hear the beautiful song of a bird: "We're leaving.
